Spence joined the staff of Advising and Orientation in 1984, having previously served the University as Director of Housing, as Director of Student Activities, and as Associate Dean of Students. He participates in the management team of Enrollment Management and is an ex-officio member of the General Education Advisory Committee. Spence is a gardener, is involved in several community programs, benefits from traveling, and reads widely.
