Freshman Program

Enrolling in a university is one of life’s major steps, and we want to help you experience an enjoyable and smooth transition into college life.

We strongly encourage you to attend a Summer Orientation session designed to introduce you to the CSU, Chico community and to prepare you for your university career. The Summer Orientation staff is here to help you build a strong foundation for a successful Chico experience.

For the optimal orientation experience, choose an orientation date when your major will be represented. Refer to the session dates link for specific college and department advising dates.

Also, you are invited to combine a Chico Bound trip with your Summer Orientation session. Meet other new students on a trip exploring Northern California. No experience is necessary and gear and food are provided! See the Chico Bound website for all the details.
