Advising and Orientation Office Services
Advising and Orientation Office staff provides advising to undergraduate students who are in the process of exploring majors. If you are an undeclared student, we recommend that you meet with an advisor at least once each semester to plan your academic program and to explore how your interests can lead to a major or career.
Customize your Education
You will discover ways in which you can create an educational experience that is uniquely yours by integrating a major with a minor, certificate program, and even "selected electives." We will explore with you the selection of General Education and other courses that will introduce you to various majors and minors that might be of interest to you.
Remember, there is not one “right way” to pick a major! Some students come to their decision by taking classes, while others might have an occupation in mind and then choose an area of study that prepares them for that career. The path you choose will hopefully lead to an area of study that you will enjoy!
When you are ready to declare a major, you will first need to print out the Change of Matriculation form and secondly, meet with your major advisor to obtain the required signatures. Finally, turn in the completed form to the Student Records and Registration office, Student Services Center 220 . For a list of all departments, including office locations and phone numbers go to academic programs page.
