Information Fair

Get connected to Chico State’s campus and community programs, services, and resources as you wind your way through the booths and displays at the Information Fair. Each booth will be staffed by knowledgeable representatives to answer all your questions and concerns.

Free BBQ and Live Music

After your department meeting, join the faculty and staff at CSU, Chico at a free BBQ for all new students! You will be able to enjoy live music and peruse the Information Fair to get yourself better acquainted with your new campus and community.

Campus Tours

This sixty- to- ninety minute campus tour departs from the Advising & Orientation Office and will help you find your way around campus while learning about the variety of resources and services available to Chico State students. Depending on the size of the group, the tour guide will try to tailor the campus tour to help you learn more about where your classes will be, where your major department is, and any other places you may be interested in learning more about.

Get Your Wildcat ID Card

Get your official CSU, Chico campus identification card – the Wildcat Card! Please bring an official form of photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or Military ID) with you.

This is an opportunity for University Village residents to relax and get acquainted after a busy day of moving in.

Introduction to Computer Resources

This one-hour workshop is your opportunity to learn first hand about the university’s computer resources, including department and open access computer labs, obtaining a wildcat email account, the Internet, the Library Research Station, training opportunities, and remote computing.

Bicycle Tour of Chico & Lower Bidwell Park

A great way to view Chico! Grab your bike and meet Adventure Outings at the Free Speech Area between Trinity Hall and the Bell Memorial Union to take a leisurely bicycle tour where you will become better acquainted with the town and park.

Free Comedy Show

Enjoy your evening with friends at this FREE comedy show. Comedian Buzz Sutherland performs at colleges throughout the country and has won countless awards for making others laugh!  On top of an evening of laughter and fun, you may be the winner of Spring 2009 tuition, which is no laughing matter! We will announce the winners of the “Connection Card” at the show. You must be present to win!

Sacramento River Float Trip

Chico can be hot in the summer, so join Associated Students Adventure Outings as we enjoy a leisurely float down the Sacramento River to cool off. An abundance of wildlife such as blue herons, red tailed hawks, otters, and beavers makes this trip an excellent introduction to Northern California. Cost: $30 for incoming students. Space is limited, so sign-up early at the Adventure Outings office in the BMU or at the Information Faire on Friday, August 22.

Associated Students Presents Welcome Back Concert

Enjoy the evening and the music with fellow CSU, Chico students and staff at the free concert on the Rose Garden Lawn. AS Presents “The Expendables”

Classroom Tours

Upper-division students will be leading tours around campus to help you find where your classes are so you are ready to start school the next day! Bring your schedule so we can make sure to visit all your class locations! These tours will leave every half hour from the Recreation Center.

Thursday Night Market

The Downtown Chico Business Association presents “Thursday Night Market”. Come and explore Downtown Chico’s Certified Farmers Market offering the season’s freshest assortments of fruits, vegetables, cut flowers, nuts, herbs, and house plants along with jewelry, food, and non-profit organizations. Entertainment for the whole family!
