Undergraduate International - Academic Qualifications

First-Time Freshmen from the U.S. or overseas
  • Completion of a university- preparatory secondary/ high school program with a 3.0 (B in the US) or "Very Good " average.**
  • Three years of university- preparatory mathematics courses including at least Beginning Algebra, Geometry, and Intermediate Algebra. All must have passing grades, i.e. C- or better or the equivalent

**The SAT-I is not required for admission except for freshmen students with 3 or more years of high school study in the US The SAT-I score for these students is used in combination with the high school grade point average.

Lower Division or Upper Division transfers from outside the US:

  • Completion of a university- preparatory secondary/ high school program with a 3.0 (B in the US) or "Very Good " average
  • Three years of university- preparatory mathematics courses including at least Beginning Algebra, Geometry, and Intermediate Algebra. All must have passing grades, i.e. C- or better or the equivalent
  • 2.40, B-/ C+ ("very good/ good") average or the equivalent on all college/ university courses completed

Upper Division transfers from a US School

  • A 2.40 grade point average.
  • Completion of General Education Area A requirements with grades of C- or better: A1, Oral Communication; A2, Written Communication; A3, Critical Thinking; and A4, Mathematics. Complete information about General Education requirements: http://www.csuchico.edu/catalog/cat01/req/ge_req.html
  • Completion of 60 semester units of baccalaureate-level courses prior to the beginning of the semester for which you apply for admisison and  proof of high school graduation is not required

Academic documents required in support of an application are official transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, and/or examination results. Each document recorded in a language other than English must be accompanied by an original certified translation.
