Academic Advising Programs can assist you with academic and career program planning, and can provide information on the effective use of the academic resources of the university. The Office of Advising & Orientation not only provides outstanding academic assistance but also sponsors CSU, Chico's Summer Orientation program for new students. Be sure to take a peek at the  Transfer Transitions Newsletter, which includes a multitude of information for new transfer students!

Transfer Credit & Articulation

Courses from other California colleges and universities are reviewed and aligned with CSU, Chico's lower division curriculum to enable students to transfer these credits for use in their degree programs. CSU, Chico is a participating campus in the California Articulation Number (CAN) system. Qualified CSU, Chico courses carry a CAN designation. Courses at other institutions with the same CAN designations represent automatic articualtion and can be used in lieu of the CSU, Chico course. CAN designations are listed in the catalog descriptions of the qualified courses (e.g. MATH 007A is qualified as CAN MATH 18). The ASSIST website will show you course equivalents between CSU, Chico and other CSU's or California community colleges.

University Honors Program

Our campus offers a wealth of special opportunities to achieve honors for our motivated undergraduate students with high grade point averages. These opportunities range from specially designed courses in general education and in selected majors to many honors societies to which students may belong.
