Eligibility
As a campus with selective criteria for admission, Chico requires applicants to meet the higher academic GPA and subject requirements for admission as a non-California resident. Additional information can be found on our freshmen and transfer admission webpages.
New freshman and new undergraduate transfer students who are enrolling for the first time may apply for WUE.
- Students must request the WUE tuition rate before they enroll at CSU, Chico.
- WUE students must declare their intent to maintain their legal domicile in their home WICHE state at the time of their application.
WUE students are not eligible for California resident tuition. Students cannot apply time accrued while participating in the WUE program to establish California residency.
Students may receive WUE tuition for four years or until the completion of the bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first. Extensions may be granted on a case by case basis. Contact the Office of Admissions to apply for an extension at (800) 542-4426 or (530) 898-4428.
