Starting or Transferring your benefits
The Office of Veterans’ Affairs can assist you whether or not you have previously received benefits. We have all the paperwork necessary for you to collect your benefits while attending CSU, Chico. Please review the following choices and select the category that best describes your experience with VA educational benefits.
- If you have never applied to the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs for educational benefits and you believe that you are eligible to receive educational benefits, you need to apply. You also need our in-house forms.
- If you are a new applicant or have previously received a monthly stipend from the USDVA while attending another institution, you need our in-house forms.
- If you have received a monthly stipend from USDVA while attending CSU, Chico and would like to continue, you need an OVA "Application for Benefits".
- If you are not eligible for USDVA educational benefits but are the dependent of a disabled veteran contact your County Veteran Service Office (CVSO) for information about the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CDVA) Fee Waiver Program.
After you make your selection, the the forms should be printed, completed and mailed to the OVA at CSUC at the address below. The CDVA Fee Waiver Application must be sent to your local CVSO to determine eligibility. You may also contact this office via E-mail at va@csuchico.edu for more information. We also have these forms in our office. Please stop in to complete the forms in person.
